The Barbarians at iPhone’s Gate
Apple’s iPhone may be one of the most popular devices ever to hit the consumer market, but whether it can sustain that success is another question. Comcast to announce takeover of NBC Universal on Thursday

Comcast is set to buy NBC Universal from GE. GE bought out Vivendi’s 20 percent stake in the network to make way for the takeover by Comcast. The deal is supposed to be announced this Thursday.
In today’s economy, mergers and acquisitions are running rampant and this is the latest in the pile of recent deals. The two conglomerates will reach a deal with a 30 billion dollar price tag. Comcast will become an even bigger corporation, but what can be done to keep a monopoly like this from happening ever? What will keep Comcast from charging more for their cable service to hedge the cost of their latest acquisition?
Does Comcast need to be singing the lyrics of Marshall Mathers or are they already?
“I watch TV and Comcast cable. You can’t stop me from toppin’ these charts!”
What are your thoughts on this recent acquisition? Will you stop your Comcast cable service because of this deal? Does this deal put Time Warner in jeopardy of being a viable company or will they be taken over by Comcast in the future? Remove the clip from your grenade and let us know what you think.
Over and out.
